PREVENTING SLIPS, TRIPS & FALLS
Keeping a "sure footing" is one of the best and simplest ways to prevent painful, debilitating injuries, or worse, for both employees and other users of public facilities. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 106 workers died as a result of a slip and fall on the same level in 2013, while falls to a lower level killed 574 workers. On average, a slip and fall injury results in nine lost-work days.
This section of the CIRMA training and education program describes the ways slips, trips, and fall injuries can be prevented through the proper use and maintenance of flooring material, housekeeping procedures, incident tracking, and the elimination of obstacles and hazards.
Topics in this training program include:
PREVENTING SPRAINS & STRAINS
