Learning Objectives

This CIRMA training program introduces fall protection techniques; the emphasis is on hazard identification, avoidance, and control.

Falls are a serious construction site hazard, representing 14% of workplace fatalities. With every increasing foot of elevation, the fatality rate rises. At eleven feet, more than fifty percent of all falls from ladders are fatal.

Providing proper fall protection for employees at construction sites is a complex issue because there are many different types of work and so many different kinds of fall hazards.
