Risk Management Tools for LAP Members

CIRMA's emphasis on risk management provides our members a way to stabilize their budgets, create a safer, more efficient workplace, and provide uninterrupted delivery of services to their communities. Risk management practices also enable municipal and school leaders reduce the many uninsurable costs that follow an accident or injury.

CIRMA acts as a risk partner to its members, working with our members, coaching and providing them the tools and resources they need to help them make their plans possible. CIRMA's years of experience in municipal and school risk management has been tapped to create an extensive portfolio of risk assessments, best practices guides, and sample policies that are available for use by our members. Many of CIRMA's risk management tools have been developed in conjunction with individual members; they are based on the experiences and needs of Connecticut's municipalities and public schools.

CIRMA Risk Management self-assessments help our members with identifying loss exposures and risk drivers in specific municipal operations. They also help track recommendations following a CIRMA Comprehensive Enterprise Risk Assessment. CIRMA's Risk Management Consultants are available to review self assessments with you and to examine alternative risk management techniques for treating the risk exposures you've identified.
